DIAMOND CORE DRILLING
Core drilling is a method that extracts cylindrical core samples directly from their in-situ location. This process utilizes a system known as 'wireline coring', employing a diamond-impregnated hollow core bit that continues cutting until the core barrel is fully retrieved. Drilling mud or cutting oil is used to cool and lubricate the bit while facilitating the lifting of cuttings to the surface.
