REVERSE CIRCULATION EXPLORATION
Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling is the preferred method among our clientele, typically reaching depths of up to 400 meters.
RC drilling utilizes a hole size of Ø 140mm and generally offers faster drilling speeds compared to diamond core drilling, along with superior sample quality relative to rotary air blast (RAB) drilling. While RC drilling is more costly than RAB and Air-core methods, it is less expensive than Core (DD) drilling.
In RC drilling, rock chips are produced instead of a solid core sample. This method involves pulverizing rock with compressed air and a percussive hammer, transporting the sample to the surface through an inner tube and cyclone, and collecting it in sample bags.
RC drilling is frequently paired with a multi-purpose rig for drilling RC pre-collars with Core tails. This approach is extensively utilized in exploration and resource drilling endeavors.
